First Spring CSA distribution this week!
Hooray! We made it! Barely... with all the warm weather, our stockpiled greens bolted like mad! As a result, our share this week includes a lot of happy flowerettes- still very tender and lovely to eat raw, but we also posted two recipe suggestions for using them in a rapini-like manner. We really appreciated the share we received yesterday. My vegetarian daughter is home for winter break and it was great to be able to whip up a fresh salad with lentil sprouts, and broccoli rabe sauteed in olive oil with garlic scapes (preserved from last year) and maple crusted pecans. A grilled cheese sourdough English muffin (homemade cheese and muffin) added some extra protein, and a bit of Cayuga Lake Creamery ice cream with a hazelnut meringue (whites from our own eggs) made for a sweet ending. Thanks!
